Yalda Night is a traditional Persian celebration marking the longest night of the year. Observed for centuries, it brings people together through poetry, storytelling, shared food, and meaningful conversation—symbolizing light, hope, and human connection during the darkest time of the year.
Today, Yalda Night is also celebrated as a multicultural community event, welcoming people of all backgrounds to experience Persian culture and shared traditions.
Green Umbrella hosted a Yalda Night celebration in Vancouver in collaboration with the PureBliss community, bringing together seniors, families, and community members from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The evening included poetry, stories, seasonal treats, candlelight, and moments of shared laughter—creating a warm, inclusive space focused on connection, belonging, and community well-being.
